In the Fall of 2016, the brothers hosted the first Big Little Games in conjunction with Sigma Phi Delta to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. The events/activities included donation booths outside of Owens and Turner dining halls, a percentage night at Benny's, social media challenges, and of course, the Big Little Games (pictured above). We are on track to hosting another Big LIttle Games for the Fall 2017 semester. Over the course of three days, we were able to raise a total of over $1000. Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) placed first, Gamma Delta Sigma (GDS) placed second and Alpha Omega Epsilon (AOE) placed third. This event was a major milestone for our chapter, and we continued our success into the following semester by placing first in Chi Omega (XO) and second in Alpha Phi (A Phi). The chapter is excited to continue growing and host our own in the near future.
Brothers of Alpha Sigma Phi also take pride in their success in philanthropies hosted by other organizations, having raised over $5000 for various causes over the course of the Fall 2016 semester. Our philanthropy chairs make a consistent effort to keep us involved on campus by participating in several philanthropy events hosted by other greek organizations every semester. Last semester, we were able to place 1st or 2nd in philanthropies hosted by five different sororities.
Alpha Sigma Phi has five values that its brothers adhere to, and for each of them, there is a corresponding philanthropic organization we choose to contribute to.
- Silence: RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network)
- Charity: Aware Awake Alive
- Purity: Humane Society
- Honor: Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
- Patriotism: Homes for our Troops
